National Building Museum:

Originally the home of the Pension Bureau, the National Building Museum was founded in 1980 by an act of Congress as a non-profit private museum of “architecture, design, engineering, construction, and urban planning”. Visitors are drawn to the Great Hall and its towering Corinthian columns, but the museum’s rotating exhibits, such as the Architectural Toy Collection and the S.H. Kress & Company Collection, are also worth checking out. Great Hall admission is free while exhibits are $8 for adults and $5 for youth, students, & seniors. Address: 401 F Street NW
